The Other Side
When you think of Hong Kong the image is of a junk boat floating across the bay before the towering modern buildings shooting skyward toward Victoria Peak.
Yet a quick taxi ride through the mountainside shoots you out into beaches and coves on the other side of Hong Kong Island. Here you’ll find Stanley and Repulse Bay and countless other retreats from the urban hysteria. Today I found a little restaurant with a big patio looking out on the water and lounged there until after sunset. That you can find a bit of peace like this is what truly sets Hong Kong apart.
